Back up to 5 stars! The old crew is back!
China Kitchen is now down to one star. Pretty sad. Luncheon specials are now w down to half the size they used to be. It appears it is under new management. Very sad. End of an era!
I'm downgrading my review from 5 stars to 2 stars. Every time I come in here I get scowled at by the lady behind the counter. Look I know you hate your life: but I am the customer! This means smiling! This means greeting me! The food is OK but to be honest it's not that great and they are getting more expensive! Want a better review! Smile at me. Be nice to me. Or I'm going someplace else there are now other choices! -

Terrible business!!!!!!
I ordered general tso chicken lunch special and requested to replace chicken with shrimp.
When I saw my bill I realized they added $10 extra to my order without notifying me first. I asked why this happened and they said replacing chicken with shrimp makes this order dinner portion.
After the owner lady was done with my order, she moved on to the next customer and started yelling at him about his order. -

I give China Kitchen 5 stars because:
1. Service is lighting fast
2. The establishment is clean, plenty of seating
3. You can order online and have it ready in 10 (perfect when you're wrapping up a meeting and need to grab a quick lunch)
4. The menu is big & broad
5. The food is always crispy and fresh
There aren't many Chinese takeout restaurants in DTSP, so I'm happy of the quality of this one. I'm surprised of the reviews on this thread, Chinese takeout is simple-- don't try to over-complicate it!!
It's a fast and affordable way to grab lunch/dinner for you and your family for a good prices. I've never gotten bad service, sure they don't always speak the best English but I'm shocked to think people expect that out of an AUTHENTIC mom and pop shop....
Either way, my recommendation is to get the General Tso's Chicken with plain Lo Mein. I usually get it for lunch (egg roll included) and am happy that I can split it to multiple meals. For $6.50 before tip and taxes, that's a real steal for how much food you get. -

Ok, slightly surprised here.
A) I'm in and around this strip center all the time and never realized China Kitchen was here.
I was killing some time sitting in my car waiting for my husband to finish at an appointment so I ran in to grab a bite.
B) Really surprised to find Wonton with Garlic Sauce ($4.95). These are something I've not seen in Chinese restaurants here or in the Northeast where I was raised. They are very similar to Szechuan Dumplings we had in Chengdu China.
They were a little thicker dumpling dough but filled with a delicious meaty filling. The garlic sauce was very garlicky, slightly spicy and just a touch of sweetness.
Overall pretty good. *WARNING they were very, very hot from a temperature standpoint. I have a burned lip to prove it.
I will admit, I saw comments on here about how rude and unfriendly the employees are and I'll have to agree. -

So this has been our go to place for local Chinese since I have lived is St Pete. Food is always good and if you order ahead the wait is not bad. Going at lunch time with pre ordering you will wait. They are popular.
